SPA I SPA II SDB I SDB II SUSHANT TVB |
By the middle of '96 "Man Lion" had already faded a lot and I was feeling a bit lost in the very peaceful abode. One day we had called Krishna for a cross appraisal job. On that day of judgement, after a long period of examination; we sat together at the rear grass court. The sun had just set, in the dusk, Krishna inquired "Are you happy with this miserable life of "Good peace ?".
Bewildered, I kept silent in response and nodded pointlessly. It was but a clever, deep Interview, perhaps the shortest of the significant ones for me. This time too, once again, I was selected without any competition. Krishna told me there was a suitable opening, I quit 'The Blue' to move on to 'The Parallel'. being invited to do so. Now I would be with my dear friends in the pursuit of anarchy. Mr. Gioia, on the other hand' had just left 'The Parallel', and I wanted to find out why, because It appeared that I was to replace him ! One hopes he is not annoyed at this disclosure. I had heard interesting things about him earlier. Wanted to find out why did he leave. and wanted to figure out. So in one early evening of the summer of '96 I went to meet him. He was alone there in citadel of Ayodhya in Delhi near the "Minar". Only The previous day I had seen him for the first time, very briefly from a distance. At the end of five or six flights of narrow stairs I reached the door and knocked, He opened the door abruptly with a jerk , gave a sleepy yet sharp queer look and led me across the terrace. There was some kind of a springiness in his brisk moves. 'Come on in'. He pointed his right index finger backwards with his powerful right arm raised up in the air and lead me into the small room behind. So I started checking him out but actually one of my Interviews had began, perhaps the longest so far.....still to be continued.... a new path opened.
